Baldur is one of the most well-known and beloved deities in Norse mythology. He is considered the god of beauty, light, kindness, and justice. Baldur is also one of the sons of Odin and Frigg, often regarded as one of the most beautiful and wise gods in the Norse pantheon.

Baldur is famous for his tragic story. According to the myth, Frigg, Baldur's mother, was afraid that something bad would happen to her son. She asked all elements of nature to promise not to harm him. However, she forgot to ask a small plant called mistletoe not to harm him. Loki, the god of mischief, seized this opportunity to craft an arrow from mistletoe and handed it to Hodr, Baldur's blind brother, who unintentionally killed Baldur with that arrow.

Baldur's death was a shock to the Norse gods, who all mourned his loss. However, with the intervention of Hermod, Baldur's brother, and the assistance of the goddess Hel, Baldur was brought back to life. The Norse then considered Baldur as a symbol of rebirth and resurrection.

Baldur is also associated with spring, light, and fertility. He is often depicted as a young and bright man, wearing a crown of leaves and flowers. Baldur is revered for his wisdom and kindness and is often invoked for protection against malevolent forces.

In summary, Baldur is an important and cherished deity in Norse mythology, associated with beauty, light, kindness, and justice. His tragic story and resurrection make him a symbol of rebirth and hope for the Norse.
